Eyelash extensions are synthetic lashes applied directly to the natural lash, close to (but not touching) the lash line with a semi-permanent bonding adhesive. A single extension is applied to a single lash, leaving the eyelashes and eyelids to move freely. They are applied carefully, one by one using specially designed tweezers. The whole process normally takes 1 – 2 hours depending on how many lashes are applied.

It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep!

Your new lashes will last between 3 to 6 weeks depending on your skincare routine and your own natural lash life cycle. To maintain the full look of your lashes, it is advisable to have infills applied every 2 – 3 weeks (depending on how well you take care of them and your natural lash cycle), as by this stage some would have fallen out as new lashes have grown through. How long your eyelash extensions last depends almost entirely on how you care for them (i.e. by removing makeup correctly, not wearing mascara, not using oily products on your face, and not tugging/pulling at your eyelash extensions).

A Classic application attaches one individual extension to each suitable natural lash. The existing lashes become longer and thicker however the total number of lashes is not increased.

Hybrid extensions are a blend of Classic and Volume Lashes combined placed evenly throughout the lashes.

A Volume application attaches multiple extensions to one natural lash. Volume extensions are finer and feel softer than those used in Classic however the total number of lashes is multiplied 3+ times. This achieves a fuller, more dramatic look depending on the amount of your natural lashes.

The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim and exercise. However DO NOT WET your eye area for at least 24 hours after the initial eyelash extension application. This allows the bonding agent to fully dry and prolong the life of your extensions.

Mascara and any type of oil based product dissolves the bonding agent of the extensions and causes them to fall out sooner. Also, take care in washing off all eye makeup. Only use an OIL-FREE eye makeup remover.

NO!! This is a MYTH! With proper application and aftercare, your eyelash extensions will simply grow out with your natural lash.

Based on the growth cycle of eyelashes, when applying lash extensions, stylists are trained to look for adult lashes to attach the individual synthetic lashes to. Young (baby) lashes are left to allow them to fully develop and when it comes times to re-lash, we have new strong lashes to bond to. Lash extensions will not cause your natural eyelashes to fall out. Remember that your natural lashes have their own life cycle of falling and growing – like the hair found elsewhere on your body. It's hard to notice small lashes falling out, but when attached to a thicker, longer lash they become much more noticeable! Once the extensions are removed, your own eyes may appear smaller, your natural lashes, shorter and sparser because you've been accustomed to a full set of longer, thicker lashes.

Below is a Video I found on YouTube, to give you an better idea of how to cleanse your own lashes at home. Enjoy!

  • The 24hrs following the application of eyelash extensions is critical to their longevity. Although your eyelashes are dry when you leave us, the glue is not cured so you must avoid water for 24hrs.

  • When washing your face/showering during this time frame: avoid water coming into contact with the eye area. Allowing your extensions to become wet during this initial phase could potentially cause irritation, it’s extremely rare but do not risk it. The final reason is water could allow the extension to move from its perfect placement! So wash your hair (if you need to) before your appointment and be careful when cleansing your face.

  • Sauna/Steam/Bikram/Pools do need to be avoided for 48hrs. This is for safety reasons as well as longevity of application so please adhere to this.

  • When cleansing please do not let cotton anywhere near them, it will hook onto the base of the lash and tear it free: face wipes, cotton pads and flannels should be avoided.

  • Give your extensions a thorough clean every day: Using an oil free cleanser, lightly massage at the base of extensions and along the eyelid. Splash with plenty of water and very carefully pat dry. This is a very important part of your eyelash extension aftercare so don’t skip it! Some people are under the impression the should be left alone but this is not the case. You’ll find this method removes eyeshadow and eyeliner in a flash.

  • Golden rule: DON’T PLAY with them: Especially in the first golden 24hrs. I know it’s tempting, they’re new, shiny and soft and you want to touch them BUT, you can look but you can not touch.

  • Following exposure to a lot of water i.e shower or swimming your lashes may need a quick comb. They dry quickly but if you wish to speed up the process you can dry them with your hair dryer on the cool option. Use the lowest power setting.

  • Please don’t use mascara on your extensions: Your extensions are designed to look long and natural without clumps or smudges. It will also mean we can’t infill your extensions and they will shed very quickly.

This may sound like a lot of work but you’ll actually find your new eyelashes save you so much time!

Avoid wetting the lashes for 24hrs. Make sure to avoid sleeping on your lashes whilst they are still setting. To protect and nourish your lashes in between services, we recommend beginning use of Eleebana Elleeplex' serum after 72hrs daily to keep the lashes nourished between services.

A minimum of 6 weeks in required between services.

Proper care following your enhancement is necessary to achieve the best results. You will be sent your Aftercare Instructions via Email along with your Consultation forms. Please review the following instructions and refer to them as necessary. If during the healing process you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us.

You may experience the following symptoms following your treatment.

Minor swelling and redness.

Mild tenderness.

Itchiness in the eyebrow area.

Dry flaking skin.

These symptoms are a normal part of the healing process.

Remember, your selected colour will be stronger and more sharply defined for up to 10 days after application, but as the healing process occurs, the colour will soften, lighten and look more natural.

The approximate healing period is 10-14 days, however healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed and also by poor diet. During this period, you MUST keep your Tattoo area completely dry except for use of your Aftercare balm (to be purchased at your appointment.

Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of the Perfecting Touch-Up visit, to allow us to fine tune your Tattoo. This is included in the initial eyebrows cost (within 6-8 weeks of the initial treatment), however if you do not attend or cancel/reschedule your re-touch appointment within the cancellation period, you will be charged $100 for your treatment. Cancellation notice is always 48 hours.

Long term care

Use a good sunscreen. Sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics.

We recommend Brows be maintained every 6-18 months for a Colour Refresh.
